In response to the Covid-19 crisis author Hannah Roots has made her bereavement resource The Most Colourful Creature in the Jungle available to UK charities working with bereaved children.
“The Most Colourful Creature in the Jungle” is a picture book (of circa 600 words) aimed at children ranging from approximately 3-7 years old who have been bereaved. It has therapeutic appeal, designed to assist the very young in overcoming emotionally difficult situations.
The objective of “The Most Colourful Creature in the Jungle” is to help introduce this sensitive and abstract concept in story form in a visually appealing format.
“The Most Colourful Creature in the Jungle” illustrates a spectrum of feelings children experience in bereavement and encourages the child to talk about and cherish the memory of the special person they have lost, to regain positivity as they move forward.
Both pdf and e-versions and accompanying colouring sheet are available free from Slide Away by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
