Denise Ross is a Chartered Educational Psychologist and was employed by the Kent Educational Psychology Service until 2009. During her time with Kent, Denise developed a special interest in helping bereaved children and her work 'Intervening with groups of bereaved pupils' was published in the Journal of Educational and Child Psychology (Vol.21. No. 3, 2004). Denise co-ordinated the delivery of the Kent Critical Incident Support Service and supported both individuals and school communities following a critical incident. Denise has presented her work on supporting bereaved pupils and critical incidents at local, regional and national conferences. Denise was also part of the Crisis Support team responsible for the production of 'A Pocketful of Posies - dealing with death and sudden loss in schools', a CD ROM designed as a resource for schools.
Denise and her family set up Slide Away in 2004 and, since moving to the West Country, has remained fully involved with the charity.
